So he tried to just be a shield for people to hide behind when things got bad, hoping to prevent what happened to him before from happening again he didn't want to be the last survivor of another bad situation so he would take the damage or the risk whenever he could. So now he's just riding this series of unfortunate events and helping his friends, and whoever else needs him, along the way.Īt the beginning of PoE 1 he was reasonably tough, strong, and resilient, but old injuries from the bad expedition left him slower than he used to be and dulled his perception. He kinda just wants to help people and live a quiet life, but then becoming a Watcher mucked all of that up. His parents were Aumaua who immigrated from Rauatai.ĭuring his time as a mercenary, he ended up one of the few survivors of an expedition gone wrong and started harboring some survivor's guilt which ate away at him for some time until he became a Kind Wayfarer and moved to the Dyrwood to try and move on from his past. Nature Godlike from the Living Lands who became a mercenary because it seemed like the easiest way to find reliable work. Very stoic and rational, he staunchly opposes animancy because he believes it interferes with the natural order of things and leads to more harm than good.įigured it would be cool to RP as a devout follower of Berath considering the early events of the second game, and it’s fun to play a character who has strong views on the gods and animancy. Made a human Priest of Berath from Aedyr named Bruce, who is a lifelong clergyman and traveled to the Dyrwood as a missionary. But I didn’t really RP him as someone who cared much about the gods or animancy, so I got kind of bored of playing as him shortly into the second game.ĭecided to make a new character to run through both games, this time someone who had a strong connection to the gods and was strongly against animancy. Basically a standard nice guy who was honest and kind, skilled with a bow and mechanically savvy. My first character was a pretty generic wood elf ranger named Silvan who was a drifter from the Living Lands. She was at her best dunking on Concelhaut and trying to strongarm herself on the Council of Archmages, and technically got vaporized after solo-venturing past Ondra's Mortar in Deadfire, because if you give her the opportunity to try and boss fight a god, she's absolutely going to give it a try. She was prideful and prone to mouthing off to authority, without a scrap of hesitation to back up either of those with force, though never out of unkindness or deliberate cruelty. Consequentially, she topped off her Passion score right away, and was very focused on pursuing anything that could increase her arcane power and prestige (spells, magical artifacts, etc) in hopes that it would either lead to something that could prolong her lifespan, or, failing that, to help her go out with the biggest bang Eora had ever seen. I have a headcanon that some fire godlikes have significantly reduced lifespans, in the vein of the whole "a candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long" idiom. My 'main' PoE character was a fire godlike Wizard, a mystic from the White That Wends.
